We held a first exchange folk outside the continent and we did it with the Folklore Group of the House of Peoples of Gaul, Gaul Parish, county of Santa Cruz on Madeira Island.
Your stay with us took place between 13 to 18 August 2003, being installed in the Recreational Cultural and Sporting Association Fajardense the days were always full with tours, Lisbon, Evora, Alqueva, Moura, Mourão, Monsaraz, and Santarem were some of the places visited. Acted in the Feasts of Samora Correia and Coruche, the nights were filled with the traditional festivals of N ª Senhora do Castelo in Coruche.
For all this time this group among us has led to considerable 5 days to absorb our culture and our habits and thus become better acquainted with this piece of Ribatejo planted in the south.
The gatherings served to know us better and closer-mos-mos friendships.
The Folklore of Fajardo moved to Madeira Island between 28 August and 1 September of that year, being installed in primary schools in the village of Santa Cruz.
Our Ranch has made moves with 35 elements that had the opportunity to deepen the cultural sites, visit the whole Island, 5 days of total use to represent our dances and songs and enjoy the magnificent scenery Madeira.
In between we have acted in the most representative Festival in Madeira which is the International Festival of Ponta do Sol, broadcast live throughout the island and later in RTP International. Folk Group to the House of Peoples of Gaul, our appreciation for the work they had to put up with us, a big thanks for the effort for everything to go well, and ran, thanks to your work.
All the elements were present with the feeling that there will come back one day.
